So many blogs in one day! Here's the color we finally chose, after lots of samples! Ryegrass by Sherwin Williams. We are using the Duration paint, the top of the line, but since it is self-priming, and only needs one coat, we are hoping to actually save. Plus it is warranted against paint peeling or chipping! We just go to get more paint if it starts peeling. But since Frank is doing such a scrape-fabulous job, it should be perfect!

Painting Update
You always spend more time than anticipated on projects, especially when it is on an Old House! We thought the paint chipper spray nozzle on the pressure washer would work wonders.....not so much! So now we are hand scraping the worst parts of it, and will paint from there, hopefully this weekend. We have been able to borrow all the best tools though, thanks to our good friends the Bessells and the Ewings! Thanks! The scaffolding will reach pretty high, pray for Frank! And we have a paint sprayer that should make it a breeze! The most time will be spent...of course...on the trim and porches. Unfortunately the paint sale at Sherwin Williams ends the 1st of September, so we better get to it!

Flowers are my Friends!
I so look forward to every Wednesday, because one of our good friends brings us flowers! Last Wednesday we got 3 bouquets of flowers, 2 melons and tons of tomatoes! I guess if I don't have a green thumb (yet), it's good to have a friend with one! Beka grows these flowers herself, and sells them at the Abingdon Farmer's Market every week. She's now branched out and started delivering. She's an entrepreneur after my own heart! Thanks Beka!

Painting is SO much fun!
We are ready to head out to SW in a couple of days to buy our paint! We've been caulking and scraping and pressure washing, and have a few more ends to tie up and then we get to start painting! I am still choosing my color, leave it to me to wait until I absolutely HAVE to choose to decide! I wanted something fun, cottag-y, and green. But we are not in FL anymore! House colors around here tend to be white, yellow, or brown! I figure I'll have to play it safe with a sage green, black shutters, red door(to match the tin roof) and ? on the deck color. I'll upload the "in progress" pics soon!

Egg Rolls-It's what's for Dinner!
Today Toby and I took our chances and made eggrolls from scratch! It was so much fun! We just picked up Melissa's egg roll wrappers from the grocery store and used the basic recipe. We substituted chicken breast for pork and our own blend of stir fry veggies instead of a frozen package, and they were wonderful! We served them with stir fry veggies and steamed rice, YUMMY!
